What is BLACKWOOD?
BLACKWOOD is a third-person action thriller set in Brooklyn, 2012, developed by AttritoM7 Productions and published by IZilla Games alongside AttritoM7 Productions. You play Anton Blackwood, a man living two lives: a quiet DVD rental store owner by daylight, and a contract killer drawn into the city's criminal underworld by night.
This is not an open-world game: the developer has said so outright, and the story runs as main missions across three acts — Act 1 on September 16, 2026, Act 2 around March 2027, Act 3 around September 2027 — with Acts 2 and 3 arriving as free updates for everyone who owns the game. Every takedown and movement you see was performed by a real stunt actor, and Act 1 is credited with 6+ hours of gameplay, which is a floor rather than a ceiling.

Frequently asked questions
Is BLACKWOOD on PS5 or Xbox?
No. Windows PC via Steam only at launch. AttritoM7 Productions has not announced a PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S or Nintendo Switch version, and no console store page exists. If a port is ever announced we will date it on the console status page.
Is BLACKWOOD an open-world game?
No. The developer states it outright: it is not an open-world game. The story is told through main missions across three Acts, set in Brooklyn, 2012.
How long is BLACKWOOD Act 1?
Official material credits Act 1 with 6+ hours of gameplay across its four main missions. That figure is a floor, not a ceiling, and stealth players who scout every route will run longer. Full-game length is not knowable until Act 3 lands, which is currently penciled in for around September 2027.
Is BLACKWOOD like John Wick?
It shares the surface — a contract killer, close-quarters gunplay, melee takedowns — but there is no licence or tie-in. BLACKWOOD is an original AttritoM7 Productions story about a DVD shop owner in Brooklyn, 2012, and the day-job half of the game has no equivalent in those films. The officially licensed John Wick game is a separate Saber Interactive project.
Is this the Blackwood from Game of Thrones or Elder Scrolls Online?
No. House Blackwood is a Game of Thrones noble house, and Blackwood is a 2021 ESO chapter. Neither is related to this game. This wiki only covers the 2026 AttritoM7 Productions title, Steam app 3639070.
Is BLACKWOOD free?
No. Act 1 was announced at $24.99 USD. Acts 2 and 3 are free updates for anyone who owns the game, so there is no season pass and no second purchase. The announced roadmap raises the price to $29.99 once Act 2 ships and $34.99 once Act 3 does.
Does BLACKWOOD have co-op or multiplayer?
No. BLACKWOOD is single-player only. There is no co-op campaign, no PvP and no online mode listed on the Steam store page.
